SELENIA Communications (MSC), a Finmeccanica Company, has a long tradition in the field of communications in a very ample spectrum. MSC is today a leading supplier in the land/naval and avionics equipment sector worldwide, with main offices and manufacturing plants in Italy, the UK, Germany and Turkey.

The Company’s main business sectors involve design, production and supply of Land and Naval communication systems and equipment, command and control systems, Avionics equipment and integrated systems for communication, navigation, identification and Security systems.

Furthermore throughout its controlled company TELEAVIO, there is a strong participation in flight control system , and flight management system for fixed and rotary wing. All above mentioned equipments and systems are to be used in a extremely wide range of military and civil applications, Security systems and equipment to be used in military and civil communication networks (both for public and private networks, including the Internet).

The equipment and systems involved allow these public or private organisations to manage their communications and data transfer over networks

Trough its Group controller FINMECCANICA is deeply involved on new European safety and security missions’ preparation.

The project architecture is bound to maximise results in a full utilisation of state of the art equipment and services. This is achieved with the contribution of all the European companies leader in each sector involved in the project and capable to give a follow up to its results.

Selenia Communications S.p.a has been a relevant collaborator of ASI (Italian Space Agency) and of all Italian ATM governmental institutions with a specific regard to satellite based localisation and communications equipments.

Selenia Communications S.p.A as a major actor in the development of the Aeronautical Telecommunication Network at national and European level sees a concrete
further evolution of the project.
